Website Terms of Use
These terms cover the use of this website. They are not the terms on which we carry out work: those are agreed with you in writing when we quote for an engagement.
1. Who runs this website
This website is operated by Vinula Consulting Ltd, trading as Vinula InfoSec. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 15613857. Our registered office is Suite A, Kings House, 68 Victoria Road, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 9LH. Our VAT number is 474017890. You can reach us at info@vinula.co.uk or on +44 7510 403140.
These are terms of use for the website. They are not the contract for any work we do for you. Where we agree to carry out an engagement, the terms of that engagement are set out in the proposal or letter of engagement we send you, and those terms govern the work.
2. Using this site means accepting these terms
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. We may change these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the one that applies. The date at the foot of the page shows when it last changed.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to this website, the server it runs on, or anything connected to it
- interfere with the site or attempt to overload it, including by automated means
- harvest or scrape content or contact details from the site for marketing or resale
- submit anything through our forms that is unlawful, abusive, deliberately false, or that impersonates somebody else
- knowingly send anything that contains malicious code or is designed to cause harm
We may withdraw access to the site from anyone who does any of these things, and we will report conduct that appears to be a criminal offence to the relevant authority.
4. Our content belongs to us
The text, layout, design, photography, graphics, code and branding on this site belong to us or to our licensors, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You are welcome to read the site, print a page for your own reference, and link to it. You may not copy, republish, adapt or reuse any of it commercially without our written permission. Nothing here transfers any right in our name or our marks to you.
5. What the information on this site is, and is not
The information published here is general information about information security and data protection. It is written to be useful and we keep it up to date as far as is reasonably possible, but it is not advice for your situation. Whether a control, a standard or an approach is right for your organisation depends on facts we do not know until we look. Please do not act on anything on this site without taking advice on your own circumstances, from us or from somebody else suitably qualified.
Nothing on this site is legal advice. We are information security and data protection consultants, not solicitors.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the site available, but we do not promise that it will always be reachable or free of faults. We may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it, and we carry out maintenance from time to time. We will try to give reasonable notice of any planned interruption where we can.
7. Links to other websites
Where we link to another website, it is because we think it is useful. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Please read their terms and their privacy information for yourself.
8. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or from anything you do or do not do in reliance on information published here.
Where we carry out work for you, our liability for that work is dealt with in the terms of that engagement, not in this clause.
9. Your information and cookies
What we do with personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. What this site stores on your device, and how to change your choices, is set out in our Cookie Policy. Those documents govern those subjects, and where they say something different from these terms, they are the ones that apply.
We publish an Accessibility Statement too, including how to reach us if you cannot use part of this site.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
